The Richmond Group are a financial group, which operates over four sites and employs over 150 people. As we grow we are increasingly aware of the impact, which our group has on the environment. The Richmond Group is taking firm steps to decrease our impact on the environment over the next 12 months.
- SMS messages are already sent instead of letters whenever possible.
- Online statements are being developed to cut the need for sending postal statements to customers.
- We are working towards converting all documentation onto recycled paper by 2008
- 85% of all waste paper is currently recycled.
- 78% of payments are taken electronically rather than by post.
- All outbound mailing lists are de-duplicated and checked against the Royal mail PAF file so that we never knowingly send undeliverable or duplicate mail.
- 80% of our employees come to work by public transport or car share. This is possible because of our town centre location and we are working to keep it that way.
- Energy consumption is currently being reviewed. All lights are all low energy and computers are never left on overnight.
- We are aiming for a 25% reduction in energy consumption per employee by 2008.
